Madonna is set to launch a new fragrance. How has this never happened before? The Pop Queen has been without an essential part of her marketing career for years.

Unfortunately, it is not an official launch just yet, but rather just merely rumours. It is thought Coty has teamed up with Madonna to release the scent, but with no clues at all as to what the notes, market, vision or overall feel of the perfumer will be. This has been a long time coming, in and out of negotiating deals with some of the largest fragrance companies around, always demanding unreasonable prices for her image. She came close to securing a signature scent in 2007 when a ridiculous $200 million was contemplated with Live Nation. It only makes sense that fragrance would be the next in line, particularly after the recent launch of Madonna’s ‘Material Girl Line’ of beauty products, which seem to be selling successfully in Macy’s.

Coty often gets the big celebrity fragrance deals, having already signed J.Lo back in 2001, Beyonce (Heat and Pulse) around a similar time and Lady Gaga’s scent is currently in the pipeline. We hope the fragrance notes will surprise, shock and alarm the consumer as much as her risqué fashion sense seems to.
