Ralph Lauren’s brand-new collection of scents, ‘Big Pony’ hits Sydney! Already launched in most other cities, unfortunately we are often last on the list. Big Pony was launched in Sydney just last week!
So what, where, when, how?
The event had minimal media wrap, but fairly high social status.
What was it all about?
The Big Pony range of fragrances, the number one selling sport scent for men. Ralph Lauren has released a quartet of new fragrances for men, named after the Big Pony polo shirts and other Ralph fashion items.
Big Pony 1 (Blue Bottle) – the sporty & dynamic scent: an aromatic citrus with lime and oak “to propel men to victory”.
Big Pony 2 (Red Bottle) – a seductive oriental fougère with dark chocolate and musk, which addresses the challenge of love and the big game needed to “get the girl”.
Big Pony 3 (Green Bottle) – an adventurous fragrance: woody fougère, with ginger and mint “to trigger an adrenaline rush” and aims to address the game of adventure and the challenge of the outdoors.
Big Pony 4 (Orange Bottle) – the stylish version: a fruity woody fragrance for the stylish man, with grapefruit and kyara wood.

The fragrant quartet was inspired by the four players of a polo team and as the marketing slogan goes, the message to men is “Get in the Game”.
Each scent presented by the L’Oreal Group and designer Ralph Lauren aims to embody a different message or mood. This allows the target market to express its passions and personality through fragrance. The overly bearing preppy style of campaign could be the reason the bottles are embellished with an oversized image of the polo logo.
