Mariah has a new perfume

My editor and I share the same ritual over the Christmas period. We both wrap our Chrissy presents while watching the ultimate Chrissy film, Love Actually.

Oh how I love that film!

I remember during college my friends and I would come home in the wee hours of the morning from the pub and blast the scene where that little girl sings All I Want For Christmas so loudly it would reverberate through the walls. Or maybe that feeling was just symptomatic of drinking 87 goon and juices…

While I do love the little girl’s version (man she has pipes! Rumour has it they actually had to fiddle with your voice to make her sound worse because the film dudes thought her voice was unbelievable!), it’s Mariah’s version that comes in at number one for me.

Despite the fact I’m extremely familiar with Mariah’s music (Music Box was the first CD I ever owned!) I’m not too familiar with her perfumes. Can’t say I’ve smelt any, actually. Shame on me! But her latest offering is out now and I think I’m going to give it a try, despite her cringe-worthy statement about it:

“I am in a wonderful place right now surrounded by all the things I love, and Forever captures this moment in time. When I put on this fragrance, I am transformed into feeling glamorous and sophisticated,” says the diva.

I’ll let you know what I think. In the meantime, hurry up and go rent Love Actually already!
