Marc Jacobs to take over at Dior for $10 million?

Marc Jacobs Move to Dior could be an expensive one. There has been much rumour and speculation around the new Creative Director at Christian Dior post John Galliano. The strong favourite is Marc Jacobs and his creative and business partner Robert Duffy. However talks have stalled according to WWD due to the 8 figure salaries being sought by Jacobs and Duffy. The figure is reportedly around the $10 million US mark. The move from Louis Vuitton will see an increase in the workload for Jacobs who is already one of the highest paid Fashion industry players.

HSBC analyst Antoine Belge has suggested that the move from Louise Vuitton will not have a great impact overall at LVMH ‘In this day and age, for a brand the size of Louis Vuitton or Christian Dior, we tend to believe that artistic directors only account for a small portion of the brand’s attribute..’
