According to a new survey, if you’re having trouble making an impression with the ladies, your choice of shirt might not be the only thing holding you back.
Where once it was considered the ultimate sexual allurement to sport a three-day-growth, facial stubble is now considered lazy, unprofessional, and unappealing.
A survey of 1,027 women from ages 18 – 49 across Australia by Galaxy Research for NIVEA FOR MEN revealed that over 70% of women find a man sexier when he is cleanly shaven. A further 29% of respondents admitted to perceiving a man with facial hair as ‘lazy’, and only 7% felt that it looked professional.
And it’s not just women that are over the rugged look. Only 16% of men said they felt more confident with the ladies when brandishing a beard or stubble.
But can any man pull off the cleanly shaven look?
I for one am still a hardened devotee of the three-day-growth do. Give me a man who left his shaver and hair gel in the bathroom cabinet any day and I turn to goo. Rough, rugged and ready, to me it oozes masculinity. But perhaps I’m old-fashioned?
So what do you think readers? Is it time for the rugged gents of the world to get acquainted with that razor? Or each to their own?
